Project Goals

We are currently seeking relationships with joint venture, development & extraction partners for the Gusher Knob quartz deposit.

The Land and Mineral Corporation will on request provide a request for proposal (RFP) to develop a proven resource of both High Purity and Ultra High Purity quartz on the Gusher Knob land tract and mineral resource asset located in the Spruce Pine Mining District of North Carolina.

Our asset is known in USGS and minerals literature as Gusher Knob and comprises 224 acres in Avery County with at least 60 acres of valuable material. The formation is pegmatite of igneous rock near to, and similar to, other plutons in the Spruce Pine area from which Sibelco and the Quartz Corp. mine their High Purity and Ultra High Purity quartz. There is good paved road access for trucks and electric power is available, with three phase available on the line running on a substantial road 1/3 of a mile from the mining site.

The Hash Report, completed by an geological survey firm in the late 1990’s, notes a very low presence of Aluminum (AL) in the Gusher Knob quartz deposit.  Aluminum is among the most difficult impurities to remove from High and Ultra High Purity quartz, and its very low levels make this a quartz that can be employed in high level uses with less than the usual expenses of beneficiation and processing.

In the Updates section of this website, and by the link below, is data on 35 samples taken from the Gusher Knob parcel.
